Mac-Hi band brings holiday music to elementary students and seniors

By:  Cynthia Lozano

The cold winds and jolly days have arrived! On the 24th and 25th of this month, we

celebrate Christmas with presents, food, traditions, and also music. This year, McLoughlin

High school band had a Holiday Band Tour on Thursday, Dec 8, 2016. This is an event we

have done every year. The band visited Grove Elementary School and played for the

students. Two songs the

students especially loved and cheered for were “Do you Want to Build a

Snowman?” and “Let It Go” from the movie Frozen

.Seeing the students’ reactions was a good feeling. When you enter the schools, you

can see what has changed and what has not. We also visited Freewater Elementary

School, and performed at the Oregon Retirement Center. The elderly people had a

smile as they listened

.

Knowing that the music we play can make someone happy is a great feeling. The Mac

High band will be playing at other events, especially at the Ugly Christmas Sweater

Assembly, that will be on Friday December 16, 2016. I wish you all Happy

Holidays.☆
