Make a Difference Day

Make a Difference Day is Saturday, October 24th, and all of the clubs at McLoughlin High School are unifying to improve our community. The Milton-Freewater Downtown Alliance (MFDA) is hoping for over 700 volunteers from the area to pitch in. Currently, there are 14 different projects going to happen around town, and MacHi is signed up for two of them.

The first is to tidy Marie-Dorian park. The park is in need of lots of various repairs: the river is in need of a clean-up, a general dose of yard work, and a covering-up of graffiti. The second project is to beautify the Frazer Farmstead Museum, located near Grove Elementary School, which will involve  painting the buildings, gardening, and general sprucing. Students will have the choice between the two, with the possibility of a third.

This day of celebrating the spirit of volunteerism is open to anyone. Students can fill out a waiver and turn it into any club advisor, and adults can contact the MFDA, or sign up at www.justserve.org.

At the meeting during the September 30 Wednesday advisory, Mrs. Esser announced that our school, along with the MFDA, will be providing snacks, lunches, and water bottles during the 6-hour event.
